Haulage and Passenger Transport Operations Management, Driver and Fleet Compliance Refresher Training Workshops

ISM in partnership with LETS Consult Ltd, is delivering industry specific series of training workshops for CPC Transport Managers.

Who Should Attend?

These workshops are designed to give “Practical” and “Real World” training to experienced and newly qualified Transport Managers in both the Haulage and Passenger transport arenas.

What will be covered and how long will the course be?

The training workshops will run over 2 full days, 09:30 to 16:30 on selected Wednesdays and Saturdays. These chosen dayss are to facilitate delegates in ensuring that they are not absent from their normal workplace during the busiest periods.It also ensures that the workshops are run during a calendar week, which corresponds to Tachograph and Working time directives in terms of “other work”.

Each day will focus on a particular area of operations, and the course is designed to allow maximum delegate interaction. The daily schedule is listed below:

Training Day 1

Understanding the Role, Legal Responsibilities, and Compliance Requirements of a Transport Manager in day-to-day operations.

1. Introduction and Course Objectives
2. Operator Licensing Essentials: Best practice to ensure legal and operational compliance
3. Driver Compliance Overview: Ensuring best practice in dealing with non-compliance issues, and your legal obligations as a transport manager.
4. Legal and Technical Compliance (Haulage and Passenger operations): CVORI compliance, annual tests, voluntary tests. 
5. Environmental Impact & Sustainability (Are you compliant?): Environmental reporting directives for SME’s in line with CSRD reporting directives
6. Activity: Practical Exercise (carbon footprint calculations).   

Training Day 2

1. Ensuring Compliance, Tachograph/Workforce Management and Real-World Applications
2. Tachograph Management (Simulations in class): Tachograph analysis, debriefing and non-compliance issues
3. Working Time Directives for Drivers (are you compliant?): Analysing driver’s hours, rosters, etc
4. Fleet Utilisation & Performance Management (Haulage and Passenger operations): Ensuring best practices in the use of fleet tracking software, reducing empty running, geo-fencing vehicles scheduling etc
5. Handling Non-Compliance & Workforce Management: Lost / Damaged cards, Un-recorded milage / Driving without card / Unusual tacho errors etc
6. Issuing infringement notices to drivers
7. Final Workshop & RSA Audit advice and best practice.

Delegates will receive comprehensive training and advice from industry accredited, qualified and approved trainers. ALL trainers  have obtained the CILT International Transport Management CPC qualifications in both Haulage and Passenger operations and are currently employed as transport and compliance managers within some of Irelands leading road haulage and passenger transport companies. Our trainers have over 70 years combined expertise between them. This will ensure that all delegates will receive expert industry led tuition for the duration of the workshops.

Delegates will receive refreshments and a selection of sandwich platters on each training day. The courses will be held each day at the ISM training facility in Broomhill Business complex, Tallaght West Dublin. There is ample free parking available at the venue.
